Back when I was married to wife number one but she'd always go into Nordstrom's to look at shoes. Back then, and I don't think it's this way anymore, The shoe department was pretty busy, a lot of guys working there, they would go and back grab the shoes and actually put them on the woman's feet.

They had a little low stool. They'd sit on that look like this.
They'd sit on it. Put your foot on what's the black part on this one and fit your shoe. I can only imagine with women wearing short or medium short dresses And skirts they'd get the occasional upskirt.
