Weird conversation with wifes friend

We were at a gathering at a friend's home, everyone knew everyone.
Most all were couples. Most were drin.king. All were similar age, 50 and up.
Wife, me and her friend were chatting. Friend's husband was across the room chatting with others.
Friend says she and hubby kinda drifting in different directions, friend says she'd be into "something on the side". I was shocked and politely walked away.
This is the exact problem for me about knowing too much about people we know.

She said it to both yourself and your wife so sound as if she fancies a threesome with both of you. As she is your wife`s friend I would be surprised if she hadn`t broached the idea with your wife before that.

Do you suspect that she may know something about you and your wife? That could be the reason she felt secure enough to mention it to you and your wife.
