Not surprisingly, many of us use ED meds for various reasons, ranging from true ED to use of these meds as a sexual enhancer.
I've experimented with Sildenafil (Viagra), Vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn), Tadalafil (Cialis) and Avanafil (Stendra). I prefer Tadalafil (Cialis) for various reasons.
I currently use a compounded product branded Mt. Everest - this is Tadalafil, oxytocin, and PT141. It's long-lasting, side-effect free, and relatively inexpensive. I don't have ED, I use this med as a sexual enhancer - it helps with stamina, maintaining a firm erection over multiple ejaculation/orgasm events, and frequency of sex within a 24-hour day.
Have you tried a cock ring or cock strap? These work wonders in addition to the use of an ED med.
Did your doctor suggest the compounded solution? Is the compounded medication significantly better than the straight Cialis?
In context, I'm a physician. The compounded product is something I came across, and discussed with my urologist.
The ED component, tadalafil, is in a 20mg dose. The oxytocion is compounded in at 100IU, the PT141 (bremelanotide acetate) at 2000mcg.
The latter compounds have secondary, entourage effect in addition to the tadalafil. I've been using this exclusively for the last two years. For those with health erectile response (both physiological and psychological), this is an awesome enhancer.
Viagra/sildenafil had negative side-effects for me; "blue out," a vision issue related to elevated blood pressure, sometimes a headache and/or elevated body temperature, and every once in a while, heartburn. It was also slow acting, and relatively short lived. Same with Levitra and Stendra - didn't like the side-effects.
Tadalafil/Cialis works for me in doses from 5mg to 40mg, depending on what I'm aiming for. It works within 30-minutes, and stays active for as long as 48-hours - for me, all without side-effects. The compounded product is delivered as a sublingual tab - works in about five minutes, and at 20mg, lasts for 24-hours. I find the oxytocin and PT141 to increase my libido, in addition to their vasodilator benefits.

I used to smoke weed almost every day sometimes twice a day, and in some occasions I couldn't get it hard.
I haven't smoked for the past 4 months and haven't had problems lately getting it hard.
I do also keep Cialis just in case.
I just quit smoking tabacco (4 days ago) and hopefully that will also help to give stronger erections.

Viagra works like a charm for me. I only use 1/2 of the SPAM tablet or it gets toooo hard!

How would I approach my doctor to recommend such a compounded med? If I gave the description as accurately as you have I feel like my doctor would ask where I found this information. If I admitted that I read it in a sex forum that would be awkward, no disrespect intended, I don't doubt your knowledge! Is this compound something that ANY compounding pharmacy would be familiar with/doing?
This compounded product is available from different sources - at least one is a commercial product/service from NuImage Medical - the partner with a compounding pharmacy (Absolute) in Florida. The service offers on-line physician consult and prescribing as needed.
In terms of supporting a conversation with your personal physician, you might cast the questions/consult in the light of doing some investigation on your own. There is a tremendous amount of info on ED meds themselves, from dosing, to side-effects, to use/expectations. PT141 and oxytocin have equally abundant, peer-reviewed studies and information on the web.
Something you guys may want to look into is another compound called trimix, works in 5 minutes and no side effects, and is not through your whole bode like pills, a small amount is injected right in the side of penis, and has a 90% success rate, and been around since the early 80's
I've read some about Trimix. The needle thing would be a drag I think, well at least for me. I'm a little squeamish about it.

Trimix is "old school," at least in the sense of ED meds. It came on the market in the early 80s. Trimix is a blend of papaverine, phentolamine, and prostaglandin E1, in an aqueous suspension. It's reconstituted from the powdered active components, usually by a compounding pharmacy, delivered in liquid form. The usual protocol once the user is initially treated and trained is to deliver three to six months worth at a time. The compound can be stored frozen, in a residential freezer for about six months.
Technically, one is limited to three treatments/doses in a seven-day week. The injection is into the side of the penile shaft, as an intravavernosal injection. The usual waiting period is between three and five minutes before an erection manifests, and the injection is good for about an hour.
Unlike other ED meds, Trimix works independent of arousal state/mind set. Side effects vary, usually bruising and/or pain resulting from improper injection technique. Overuse is also a problem - unlike other ED meds, overuse of Trimix can lead to permanent physiological damage. It's not really a recreational product - it's common use is in lieu of a penile implant, for treating physiological/neurological problems that prevent an individual from attaining an erection.

I've used PT-141 as an injectable many years ago. Didn't know it worked taken orally.
It's less effective in oral form vs. injectable form. The study data is not all in yet, relative to total efficacy and bioavailability for males is still a work in progress. PT141/bremelantonide is used in Vyleesi (self-admin injectable) and Addyi (orally administered tablet) to treat sexual disfunction in post-menopausal females. It's use on males is relatively new, and off-label.
I've never been a fan of injectables, for a variety of reasons.
JW, Your information is spot on! I have diabetes and high blood pressure so the trimix is perfect for me because the shot does not go in the body per si'. its just local. For those who are concerned about the needle, the one you use is so small you don't feel it. I tried all the ED meds and always felt terrible for 6-8 hours after and usually didn't work very well. With the trimix I Shoot and go!! for those with any questions pm me, or talk with your urologist, and maybe you can talk him into a free shot!!!.
